For convenience, I used to love using tinted moisturisers and BB or CC creams with added SPF. Though I still use some of these products, especially as a top up, I’ve recently learnt the error of my ways.
At a recent appointment with my facialist, I learnt that the SPF contained in cosmetic products can last up to 25 minutes or so but after that your skin is just as vulnerable and of course I would put it on first thing, thinking that my skin would be protected throughout the whole day.
Alternatively, I was advised that even if I use those products, I must be sure to layer a separate SPF first thing in the morning beneath my makeup and top up every few hours during the day.
Here are a few of my favourite paraben-free, skin-friendly SPFs to apply before my makeup.
